The recent notices sent to renters of Cumberland Gardens has shaken the community and invigorated further discussion about the lack of rental units available in our area. President of the Cornwall and District Real Estate Board Troy Vaillancourt said he has never seen the local vacancy rate as low as it currently is. “I have been involved in the real estate industry for the last 16 years. The vacancy rate in the area has generally hovered around four per cent to five per cent depending on the time of year.
