What Canada’s real estate leaders want from the next federal government

As the Sept. 20 federal election draws near, Canada’s competing political parties have made some bold promises about housing. The NDP’s pledge to build 500,000 affordable housing units in the next 10 years is ambitious enough. But the Conservatives, who’ve committed to building a million homes over the next three years, and the Liberals, who say they’ll build 1.4 million “new, market-priced” homes by 2025, will also have their work cut out for them should they find themselves in power.
